Seb derm is not dry skin, and it's not something you can "cure" with generic moisturizers or drugstore shampoos.

This little parasite does NOT stay put. It spreads. It's sensitive. And odds are you're probably making it worse without even realizing it.

So if you do any of the following things listed below, I hope this article saves you some trouble... because discovering this changed everything for me.

 #5

shampoos

This is the most controversial because the big brands you see all over the place have marketed everyone so well...

So here's the real scientific research:

Yeah right. Shocking.

Shampoos are literally causing chemical-burns all over your skin. No seriously. This zinc pyrithione stuff was never ever ever designed to work WITH your skin.

It's an outdated anti-fungal from the 1960S!!! You can't make this up. They literally haven't improved on it in over 65 YEARS. If it makes money why not sell it? I guess...

So this one was obviously the biggest problem for me because Head & Shoulders was the only seb derm shampoo I actually knew of, and I had flare-ups all over my beard & scalp...

I was doing everything right. Clean water, good food, low stress, no scratching lol

But there I was. Still snowing like Santa Claus, still looking like a stray dog fighting off flees (every time I itch my beard)

It's not like I was close-minded or anything... I tried a bunch of other shampoos & creams but they all had that zinc in them.

No matter what I was using, my hair felt thinner, scalp felt drier, and flare-ups basically stayed the same.

Inconsistent. Random. Embarrassing.

 #4

inflammatory food

Okay man, this one you probably know about already. So here's the reason WHY certain foods can mess your skin up & what you shouldn't be eating.

Sugar / Refined Carbs

Spike insulin → your skin makes more oil → feeds the fungus.

Alcohol

Inflames your skin + weakens the barrier → instant flare-ups.

Gluten / Wheat

Triggers inflammation in sensitive people → shows up on your skin.

Fried Foods / Seed Oils

Inflammatory fats → oily, irritated skin that flares faster.

Greasy Junk Foods

Heavy oils throw off your skin’s oil balance → flare central.

Ultra-Processed Foods

Additives + refined carbs = inflammation + oil spikes.

Yes, it might be annoying, but as soon as I cut the trash out of my diet I noticed wayyy less flare-ups so yeah, here's a short guide on dieting for seb derm.

 #3

stress

If I had a $1 for every time someone told me I'm "stressed" I'd be a millionaire. Okay. No shit Sherlock everyone knows stress causes skin issues, but I never knew what to actually do about it, I mean do I just quit my job & stop worrying about my family 😂?

Jokes aside, turns out that when you're stressed, cortisol goes up, oil production goes up. Your immune defenses go DOWN. Your body's practically surrendering to the fungus.

it's like a winning lottery ticket for  the fungus because:

It LOVES that extra oil, so it multiplies.

The skin barrier gets weaker, so any minor irritation turns into a flare-up. As a result, the fungus doesn't have to battle against your immune system.

 #2

scratching

Remember when you were a kid and your mom would tell you: “If you scratch it, you’ll make it worse.” Well this applies with seb derm ESPECIALLY.

Because everytime you give in & satisfy that urge to scratch it... You're creating micro-cuts in your skins.

 What Micro-Cuts Cause

1. Oil leaks out + more oil gets produced, which gives the fungus even more food.

2. The yeast + bacteria on your skin get inside those tiny openings, which triggers even more inflammation.

So the micro-cuts don’t just hurt — they literally turn the area into the perfect breeding ground for a flare-up.

In short. Stop scratching bro :)

 #1

shower / sink water

"But, but the government filters it. My dad would literally drink water from the hose."

You're right, clean water USED TO be easily accessible. But times have changed. Over the past 20 years it's gone to sh**.

Here's a chart that shows the heavy metals concentration in our water from 11 different countries in 2024.

Now. You can't even wash your face or hair without drenching yourself in a cocktail of heavy metals & literal disinfectant.

As a result, your skin barrier weakens. The fungus gets aggravated. The flare-ups worsen. And it spreads all over. Some pretty ugly stuff.

Learn how to get better water

it took me 5 months & $600 trying random products to find one that actually helped...

One family dinner I'm sitting there itching & complaining, and my mother-in-law recommends me something called "New Aura". She tells me it helped her husband's skin flare-ups go away completely so I thought why not?

And ordered it.
I know it probably sounds like some "magic" fake cream & that's what I thought too.

But I looked into the ingredients, and stuff is legit. They use "piroctone olamine" and a bunch of natural herbs to starve the fungus while helping heal the skin barrier.

So it's like a 2-step dance this stuff does when you apply it. It doesn't just kill the fungus, it ALSO helps your skin recover it's own defenses, naturally.

3 weeks:
I kid you not, after using it consistently, it actually stopped the itching.

2nd month:
I noticed the flaking basically stopped altogether.

3rd month:
I forgot I even had seb derm. (no flare-ups or redness)

Here's a link because I think everyone needs to try it. They also sent me all these seb derm guides & free holiday bonus gifts, so yeah check them out while they still got that offer up on their website.

So you're basically tearing open the top layer of your skin. And once that barrier is cracked, two things happen fast:
